“Oh my goodness Emma. I cried straight away. You’ve captured all the emotion! I can’t actually believe what you did! So so so so happy! So many great pictures of everyone, my family are going to be in tears!”

For me, there is a real sense of honour that comes with shooting weddings. Being trusted to capture moments with loved ones. But there’s an even greater privilege that comes when it’s the wedding of two people that are very special to you. You have even more of a determination to give them beautiful photos to cherish forever.

Jonnie and Tanya are the ultimate dream couple to photograph. Laid-back, creative, beautiful and with a real focus on family, community and creating a joyful, inclusive atmosphere for their day. So much thought and care went into every single detail and their overarching desire was that everyone would feel loved and included.

With its turquoise freestanding ballroom, characterful accommodation and eclectic furnishings, they chose Walcot Hall for their big day, which really is a feast for the eyes and perfect for a completely bespoke wedding. Tanya wore a bespoke dress which she designed with Emma Beaumont, and Jonnie curated his gorgeous suit with Beggar’s Run in London. They used so many creative suppliers including florals by Coco In The Country Florals, cake by Caroline Debonnaire, rings by Michelle Oh Jewellery, stationary by Vine In The Wild and hair and make up by Portraits Bridal. Tanya and her bridesmaid Esther co-founded Nuwe Roam, an online homeware and lifestyle brand, and their pieces featured throughout the day. It was a real treat also to work alongside Lee from Shutterbox Films who was an absolute gent and is incredibly talented.

Jonnie & Tanya, along with their family and friends, completely opened themselves up to me on the day resulting in photographs full of true emotion and joy. A gorgeous couple that deserve all of the happiness. Thank you for being so welcoming and kind, we love you!
