“We couldn’t have asked for any more from an amazing photographer! From the clear communication before the wedding to the smooth running of the day itself, you have been so helpful and reassuring with every little detail. You gave us plenty of time to spend with our family and friends and our guests commented on how amazing and friendly you were. We are so happy with our wedding photos – thank you Ems!!”
I remember it so clearly, the crisp winter air, the buzz of South Belfast softly in the background, the smell of chicken goujons and sweet potato fries filled the air. Kathryn and I were enjoying a romantic meal for two when she popped the question and asked me to be her photographer! For those of you who aren’t lucky enough to know David and Kathryn, they are adventurous, have great taste, love travel, always up for fun and are two of the easiest people to be around. It’s really special when you are asked to shoot the faces of your friends. (Not literally.)
Kathryn is the Queen of Organisation, with her spreadsheets and filled to-do lists. She has the patience of a saint as I bombard her with whatsapp messages asking all the wedding questions as I plan my own. So pretty soon, they had their perfect day all laid out in their own idiosyncratic style. David is an extremely talented architect, and was passionate about injecting space and beauty into their photographs. They chose the stunning Greyabbey ruins as the backdrop for their photographs on their way to the wonderful Orange Tree House in Greyabbey. Orange Tree House sits right on the vast expanses of the northern shores of Strangford Lough, Whiterock Bay and the Mournes. For your wedding day, this is an exquisite sight.
I love the little details like the personalised copper tie-clips for the boys and the branded locally-brewed beer as their guests unwind looking out at the sunset. Thank you Kathryn and David for opening yourselves so freely, it’s a day I will never forget.
